My lesson plan on money and possessions will be delivered to an audience that contains youths because they are the most vulnerable to evils associated with money and worldly possessions. The youths, based on the hard-economic times find themselves engaging their energy in ungodly things to gain money and other possessions.
Lesson 1; we need to establish God’s principles on money and possessions.
To understand our obligations as Christians, we must establish the principles of money and possessions as well understand our position as young Christians on ownership of money and wealth. We must recognize statements and examples of biblical teachings about money and possessions.
The first principle that money and worldly possession belongs to God. God is the owner of all wealth that is on earth and hence, anything precious including money belongs to Him. For example, in the book of Haggai 2:8, God declares that all the gold and silver are His and this forms the basis for the ownership of money and earthly possessions The Lesson Plan On Money And Possession Discussion.
This lesson has great significance to the current world given that as Christians, if we understand that money and earthly possessions belongs to God, we will at all times use what we have been blessed with in regards to wealth to glorify God. We can always share our possessions with the less privileged in society.
Lesson 2; As Christians, we must have the right attitude towards money and possessions.
As Christians, we must avoid two main evils that are associated with money and possessions that include worry and greed. These two attitudes and evils can make good Christians to stray away from the will of god. When we worry too much about wealth and possessions, we stray away from the will of God and this can lead to do evil. For instance, the apostle peter in the book of 1 Peter 5:7 gives comfort to human beings not to worry, “Leave all your worries with Him, because He cares for you” similar sentiments are reiterated in Philippians 4:6 by apostle Paul who affirms that we should not be worried about anything and instead, take our needs to the lord and he will provide.
Also, greed is a sin that drives us to desire more than what we have and this can lead to sinful behaviors. Jesus for instance in the book of Luke 12:15 said that we should watch out for any form of greed because a person’s life is not determined by what they have even if they are rich. This is a call for us Christians to emphasize on contentment as well as generosity The Lesson Plan On Money And Possession Discussion.
Lesson 3; As Christians, we must manage what God gives us
According to the lesson on managing what God gives us, as good stewards, we must learn to manage what we have earned because earthly things are necessary for our survival in the world. Good management of what we have acquired is a good sign of stewardship. This lesson is in line with the parable of the three servants where the master rewarded him, who had acquired more profits and punished the servant who did not make any profit by taking away what he had given him.
In the practical perspective, in our day to day life, we have been blessed with various talents or abilities that we can use to benefit ourselves and others. It is God’s desire that we use what we have to benefit ourselves and others in a righteous way. Even though it is Godly to acquire money, as Christians we must acquire money and wealthy in the right way. For instance, in the book of Ephesians 4:28, the bible says that Christians should earn money and other possessions by working hard and in the right way The Lesson Plan On Money And Possession Discussion.
Lesson 4; As Christians, we must make a budget to regulate our expenditure
An extravagant lifestyle is un-Godly because it leads to a waste of resources and money. When we waste what we have acquired from God, it annoys Him because we have a responsibility as Christians to spend wisely and share what we have with those who lacks. An extravagant lifestyle makes one to forget those who are in need by inculcating a sprit of greedy.
In the practical life, when we have what we perceive to be our excess, it is ideal to share with those who are less fortunate than wasting by using it in thins that are not necessary or those that do not please the Lord.
Lesson 5; As Christians we must put God first
As Christians, we must acknowledge that all that we have originated from God and hence, we must put God first in all endeavors that we partake. To express our recognition of God as our first priority, we must give tithes as a way of appreciating the good things that God has done. Good tithing is a sign that we acknowledge God to be the provider of all possessions that we have. In the bible, Abraham gave tithes to the priest-king Melchizedek The Lesson Plan On Money And Possession Discussion.

Lesson 6; As Christians, we must spend our money wisely
When applicable, as Christians, we should spend our money wisely and avoid debts because they lead to poverty. When having transactions such as buying items, it is prudent that we buy things on cash and avoid other terms such as higher purchase because they make the total expenditure to be extremely high. For example, in the book of Romans 13:8, the bible says that we should owe nobody anything other than loving them. In the practical life, when we borrow items, they accumulate interest which eventually make us suffer The Lesson Plan On Money And Possession Discussion
