Lessons learned from the study of United States history that has impacted my life or work today.
One lesson learned from the study of United States history that impacts my daily life and work is about late nineteenth-century inventors’ products and ideas that led to the emergence of big businesses in the US. During this period, inventors discovered the power of steam, and later in the nineteenth, they invented electricity. The discovery of electricity enhanced the power of machines and the capacity of individuals. Consequently, factories and industries grew rapidly since electric power enhanced their functioning capacity. The use of electric power advanced throughout the 19th century, resulting if further advancement in factories, industries, and homes. According to Kim and Moser (2021)The Journal Entry Assignment Paper, a high number of women were working in these industries, especially textile industries. In today’s world, electric power is used to run machines in factories, industries, companies, and businesses. I use electric power at home making life easy and comfortable. Additionally, the use of electric power at my workplace enhances my job performance and overall productivity.
Advice to incoming students
My advice to the next group of students who will be taking this course is to be keen on discoveries and inventions that were made in the 18th and 19th centuries since they significantly changed the life of individuals and the entire nation. People who introduced new ideas and products were also amazed by the life-changing nature of their work. According to Jung and Ejermo (2014)The Journal Entry Assignment Paper, these technologies have advanced with fast-changing technology. The learners should aim at understanding how new inventions contributed to industrial growth across the US and its impact on people’s life and the country’s overall economic growth.
Course’s impact on my daily or work life
This course has affected my daily life and work by enhancing my understanding of various discoveries, including electric energy, telephone, and electric lighting, and how they were used in different places, including homes, factories, and industries. These discoveries have significantly impacted my personal and work life. I use the telephone in my personal life to communicate with family members and friends. Additionally, at the workplace, I use the phone to communicate with colleagues and clients. I also use electric energy both at home in running machines and lighting bulbs, which makes life better and more comfortable. The Journal Entry Assignment Paper
The lessons that incoming students should learn
The incoming students should be aware of the demanding nature of this class. The course is relatively broad with a wide range of concepts to be covered. Additionally, students are expected to complete their assignments and submit them on time to avoid deduction of marks. Therefore, incoming students should be ready to work harder and read provided course material for them to pass their exams.
Strategies applied that might be useful to incoming students
During the course, I applied various strategies that might be helpful. The most significant strategy was attending classes and remaining attentive throughout the session. I would ask questions on areas that were not clear, enhancing my understanding. Secondly, I read the course textbooks and visited the library to acquire more knowledge and improve weak areas. Lastly, I participated in discussion groups where I shared ideas with my colleagues, improving my knowledge. The Journal Entry Assignment Paper
