SWOT (acronym for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis is a framework for evaluating the competitive position of an organization and developing strategic planning. The analysis assesses the external and internal factors, as well as the current and future potential of the organization. It represents an effort examine the interaction between the characteristics of the organization and the market place (external environment) in which it operates and competes (DuBrin, 2022). In fact, it is an assessment tool targeted that leads to the strategic plan presenting new ideas, presenting fresh perspectives and offering fact-based analysis that lead the organization away from less successful strategies to more successful strategies. The plan for conducting the SWOT analysis will be based on engaging diverse voices/groups within the organization who will be free to provide realistic data points rather than prescribed messaging. This approach ensures that the analysis assesses the performance, competition, risk and potential of the organization (or a division in the organization) as a business entity. Other than engaging voices within the organization, voices outside the organization would also be engaged as data sources (Blokdyk, 2019)The Elements Of A SWOT Analysis Paper. Engaging internal and external data sources ensures that a comprehensive analysis is conducted with the analysis results helping to guide the organization on determining whether it is strong or weak and why. In essence, SWOT analysis aggregates diverse opinions that present accurate key insights into the balance of advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and threats, and so forth. Furthermore, engaging diverse voices helps to avoid preconceived beliefs and instead focus on real-life contexts thereby presenting a guide of the organization’s condition, and not necessarily a prescription of the condition (Ferrell, Hartline & Hochstein, 2022).
