Discussion: Using the Walden Library

Where can you find evidence to inform your thoughts and scholarly writing? Throughout your degree program, you will use research literature to explore ideas, guide your thinking, and gain new insights. As you search the research literature, it is important to use resources that are peer-reviewed and from scholarly journals. You may already have some favorite online resources and databases that you use or have found useful in the past. For this Discussion, you explore databases available through the Walden Library.

The article has been obtained from Walden University using the EBSCOhost database. The database is mainly an online research platform utilized by various institutions like Walden University to help students access relevant information easily (Malabanan & Bayeng, 2019). Hence, regardless of the topic of discussion, institutions are assured that their students will access important information that will improve their academic performance and knowledge in their areas of specialization. The main difficulty experienced during the search was getting the appropriate article since too many articles focused on my research area. The other issue was identifying the specific term appropriate for the research topic, prompting me to try various terms before identifying the most appropriate article. Such challenges, in most cases, happen in all databases when learners are trying to carry out their research, thus requiring learners to formulate effective strategies to help them conquer these challenges and avoid wasting much time carrying out research work.

From my experience, EBSCOhost is a great online database that I would recommend to my fellow nursing students. One reason is that the EBSCOhost has a variety of reliable nursing journals and articles that are relevant in increasing their knowledge depending on their area of specialization. That way, the nursing students can easily compare the dynamic changes experienced in their nursing area, thus giving them an idea of ways to deal with any form of nursing change. Also, since one accesses EBSCOhost using the Walden University Library, it indicates that the database is trusted and produces scholarly materials of high quality that are approved by different higher learning institutions globally (Oermann et al., 2021). That way, the nursing students are aware that they can use the journals and articles presented in the database to carry out evidence-based

In conclusion, the paper has provided the selected articles and discussed the challenges of selecting the research article. Also, it has provided reasons why the database used to find the research can be essential to other nursing students.
