Discussion 1

Disseminating research and evidence-based practice results is essential in maximizing the results and ensuring intended changes by the studies (National Institute of Health Research, 2019). Using my identified topic, one of the professional journals I would publish my article is the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC). Cough etiquette and good hand hygiene practices are essential in preventing COVID-19 among the school-aged population (Gray et al., 2020)The Capstone Project Essay Assignment. Improving hand hygiene compliance in hospitals is also vital in reducing nosocomial infections. Translating research findings into patient care significantly improves patient safety and care. I would also love to present my project at one of the annual conferences held by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). EBP is essential in the practice of a BSN-prepared RN as it enables them to provide high-quality patient care and incorporate current evidence into patient care and decision-making (Regis College, 2021). I will continue integrating evidence into my practice by participating in continuous learning and conferences. Mlambo et al. (2021) assert that continuous learning ensures nurses’ skills and knowledge are up-to-date. Additionally, lifelong learning equips nurses with problem-solving and critical thinking skills in the event they encounter challenging patient issues or problems.

On the other hand, participating in nursing conferences is vital as it pools together the brightest and best thoughts from which nurses can savor. In conferences, nurses present the latest research findings, empowering nurses to lead in bringing change into nursing practice.

Time constraints will likely interfere with my plan for continuous evidence integration through my highlighted strategies.
