I like how your post is simple, coherent, and specific. You have sorted it into paragraphs with clearly linked sentences that answer the posed questions logically and discuss one concept at a time. Additionally, you have supported the paragraphs with reliable and current sources. One thing that stands out for me is the post’s Standard English and the fact that it lacks grammatical errors.
Importantly, I agree with your thoughts on individual CBT. It is indeed effective in treating some somatoform disorders; however, I feel like backing up your claims with an example will improve your writing and the reader’s understanding. Also, I’m certain that your claims on group therapy and operant positioning in family therapy are true. To add on to them, operant positioning (Apolinario-Hagen et al., 2020) is not only effective in improving children’s behaviour but also animals training. Also, (Stefan et al., 2019) conforms that group therapy is critical in promoting socialization and communication. All in all, I’m open to any addition or criticism on this subject Psychotherapy With Multiple Muldalities Essay.
Thank you.

1ST PEERS DISCUSSION TO RESPOND TO
Week 5 Initial Discussion
Cognitive behavior therapy is based on the belief that mental health is dependent on how well a person can adapt to a changing environment (Clevenger, 2020). It is a useful tool to help patients overcome negative thinking patterns by improving reasoning, self-control, and/or responses to events (PsychExamReview, 2019)Psychotherapy With Multiple Muldalities Essay. It has different applications with individuals, families, and groups. CBT has advantages and disadvantages with each forum due to the introduction of more participants.
Individual CBT is beneficial because it teaches patients to identify thoughts that increase stress, inactivity, and health concerns (Boland et al., 2021). It does this by helping the patient identify faulty ways of thinking. CBT has been shown to be more effective treating some somatoform disorders than medication (Boland et al., 2021). This is good because if a patient is medication averse, they still have treatment options depending on what the problem is.
In family therapy it is used to look at families as a system of relationships and how they affect each other. Main themes of family CBT are contingencies and reinforcement (Nichols & Davis, 2020). An assessment is done to determine the frequency of the problem behavior and strategies are created to solve the behavior. A common method parents are taught is operant conditioning (Nichols & Davis, 2020). Praise is given to desirable behaviors and scrutiny is given to undesirable behaviors. The theory is that over time the child will express the encouraged behaviors. Both parents should be on the same page to create change in the child’s behavior.
In group therapy, patients work on their problems in a group setting. It encourages patients to be social and communicate with others. This is beneficial to patients because some of their symptoms involve reduced social activity and isolation. Group members can learn coping mechanisms from others they may have never thought of. This shows patients they are not alone and helps feel less stigmatized. It is a cost-effective method and allows a therapist to see many patients at one once, it is also cheaper for patients (PsychExamReview, 2019)Psychotherapy With Multiple Muldalities Essay, while creating more access to providers. However, things are seldom perfect and group therapy does have some drawbacks. For one, the therapist is less focused on individual patients so they may have other symptoms that go ignored. Another problem is group dynamics. One member can dominate conversation by taking up too much time, there can be cliques that shun other group members making them reluctant to talk. This could make them less likely to show up too.
