My previous health studies and clinical experiences have played a major role in influencing my decision to pursue the Nursing Practitioner (NP) program, and also my ultimate choice of clinical focus (Adult NP). In the past, I have undertaken health studies at the undergraduate and Master level in Nursing and Hospitality and Health Administration (Health Care Quality), respectively. I have also garnered enormous clinical experiences working with inter-professional teams in different healthcare environments including Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Clinical Instructor, and Nurse Educator. Throughout my entire educational pursuits and occupational engagements, I have consistently placed myself on the right pathway to becoming an Adult Nurse Practitioner. I am therefore looking forward to utilize the extensive clinical knowledge, expertise, experience, skills and competencies that will acquire by pursing this NP program to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care and support to diverse adult patient populations. My choice of clinical focus (Adult NP) is also heavily influenced by the clinical expertise and professional experiences that I gained by participating in previous health studies and nursing-oriented job placements. As an Adult nurse practitioner, I will be able to act as a primary care provider, and to specialize in specific areas of practice, cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular care. Career Objectives

Equipped with more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare field, I have set a number of achievable ambitious career goals that I strongly believe will be advanced by the Nurse Practitioner program. Below are the lists of short and long-term goals that will assist me to guide my career as an Adult Nurse Practitioner after successful completion of the NP program.

  1. Complete the Certification Exam

Following my graduation from this accredited NP program, I will look forward to complete the examination approved by the College’s Council for the selected NP specialty in order to obtain the Adult specialty certificate that will allow me to start practicing as an Adult NP.

  1. Correctly Assess, Diagnose and Treat Disease in Patients

I am always striving to ensure the correct assessment, diagnosis and treatment of my patients. Participating in this NP program will equip me with relevant clinical knowledge and experiences in my specialty, and hence after graduating I will have leveraged ability to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based and family-centered care to diverse adult patient populations.

  1. Stay Current With Practices And Trends In Medicine

A key professional development goal for me as a future NP will be to stay up-to-date with current trends and developments and to offer evidence-based and holistic care to all patients. The clinical expertise and experiences gained from participating in the NP program will prove instrumental in enabling be to use and apply evidence-based care in order to attain improvements in therapeutic benefits and better outcomes for patients.

  1. Advocate for Inter-disciplinary care

Another key career goal as a NP will be to engage in advocacy for inter-disciplinary care and support to patients. Finnbogadottir et al. (2020) explained that the NP program is well equipped to enable the nurse practitioner engage in inter-professional collaboration within the nursing environments in order to achieve effective communication, active participation, team-work, shared decision-making and care coordination. Therefore, this NP program is a crucial foundation on which I can secure a place on the path to becoming an Adult Nurse Practitioner, and subsequently, to participate in advocacy efforts aimed at encouraging and promoting inter-disciplinary care in both primary and secondary patient care settings. Expectations from the Clinical Placements

As an educational requirement, Clinical Placements are an integral component of the Nurse Practitioner Program, and hence they will offer me with practical opportunities to apply clinical care methods, concepts, models, technical expertise and skills in a range of clinical settings. Secondly, the clinical placements will also authentic and shared learning opportunities for me to develop and nurse positive and working relationships with my fellow students, supervisors, colleagues and other key personnel within the clinical sites (der Riet et al., 2018). I therefore expect to engage in networking as part of the initiative to become a part of the professional networks as the fundamental basis for ensuring that I only participate in clinical placements that are genuinely aligned with my professional and academic goals. Equally, the rich, up-to-date and extensive experiences associated with these clinical placements will no doubt form a vital component of my advanced practice nursing education as well as my overall career preparedness. I also expect to acquire rewarding practicum experiences through actively participating in the various clinical rotation experiences by being communicative, attentive, and proactive and open to new and novel learning experiences (Cretu, 2021)Nurse Practitioners Assignment Paper.  Indeed, the clinical placements are vital in terms of enabling me to build and exercise the requisite skills, competencies and experiences to success as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, and also to develop and maintain rewarding professional connections and personal relationships.
