Global nursing practices are dynamic with the current change that embraces new ideas in promoting efficacy and improved patient outcomes in caring services (Duffy, 2022). As a young nurse who is enthusiastic in embracing new technologies that foster quality care provision, I have developed keen interest in studying current practices that incorporate novel technologies in promoting patient safety in clinical settings. Before I enrolled for my classes this semester, I remember trying to figure out how technology would impact my practice as a nurse, especially where I felt there were issues of misdiagnosis due to the loss of patient information. During my study, I learned that incorporating the use of health Informatics as suggested by De Leeuw et al. (2020) in patient care would help improve the storage of data and communication in department, promoting patient safety in clinical setups.

To incorporate the integration of health Informatics, I intend to make use of my research skills as stared by De Leeuw et al. (2020) in advocating for new technologies in data storage using previous evidence in my daily practice. Carrying out intensive research will help me identify best technologies and practices in data storage. Storing the correct information ensures minimum confusion in departments, thus the correct diagnosis, prescription of drugs. To ensure that there is continued adoption of efficient and relevant technologies in Health Informatics strategies integrated in my workplace, I will make a monitoring and evaluation proposal and plan to the facility.
