The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, is the most likely to help with prescription drug cost reduction. This organization aids in the discovery and promotion of safe, effective, and inexpensive drugs. The FDA’s mission is to ensure that drugs are prescribed and used safely in all healthcare settings. The FDA is the most useful because it certifies treatments and drugs that can be used by adults and children in the United States. As a result, it has unrivalled discretion over which drugs are used, and it can have a significant impact on pricing by withholding permission to therapies that are not cost-effective.
How do you think your selected healthcare issue might get on the presidential agenda? How does it stay there?
