Strengths and Opportunities for Improvement
My practice exam results from last week were not so pleasing because I performed fairly. Although I got a fair average grade, it is not the grade that I wished for. However, I performed very well in my major course unit. The fair results are attributed to inadequate preparation before taking the practice exams. When taking the exam, I was tensed up because I felt that I had not thoroughly studied and done extensive research. Although most of the questions came from the topics that we had covered in course work, the question format and structuring proved a challenge to me making me answer them incorrectly. Moreover, I also felt that the time allocated for the practice exam was not enough to analyze and deeply understand the exam questions. My major area of weakness that I need to improve on is the calculations of various variables using provided data and formulas. On the other hand, understanding theories, guidelines, and evidence from research and applying them in clinical practice are among the major strengths that I need to maintain Preparation For Nursing Certification Exam Paper.
Study Plan Timetable
Goals | Tasks to accomplish the goals | How to measure progress | Duration |
To fully grasp the concepts of variable calculations | 1. Consult the lecturer for deeper and more extensive explanations and demonstrations of the concepts and calculations (Ciurzynski & Serwetnyk, 2015)
2. Conduct extensive research from available resources about the specific calculations 3. Regularly practice solving most of the questions involving calculations
|
Take self-assessment tests prior to and after finishing the scheduled tasks (Massagli et al., 2016). Compare post-assessment test results to pre-assessment test results to check for improvement. | Two weeks |
To obtain grade A in the major subject | Use different resources to gain more knowledge and skills | Compare post-assessment test results to pre-assessment test results of the self-assessment tests to check for improvement (Massagli et al., 2016) | Two weeks |
To improve my confidence when taking exams | 1. Take up quizzes periodically in order to adequately understand exam questions and exam formats (Ciurzynski & Serwetnyk, 2015).
2. Study widely in order to gain sufficient knowledge in the subject that I take |
Observe the feelings when taking test quizzes to ensure the feeling of anxiety is absent | Two weeks |
Manage time well during the examination | 1. Taking timed quizzes for practice
2. Read and understand the question before answering the question 3. Formulate a timetable for studying each subject at a particular tine |
Duration covered in answering test questions is checked against the standard duration for taking that exam. | Two weeks |
Resources to Be Used
To prepare for my certification exam, I will utilize various resources to execute the scheduled tasks and achieve my goals. The resources that I will utilize include coursework materials, print and electronic data sources, a lecturer of a specific unit, and fellow students (Ciurzynski & Serwetnyk, 2015). First, I will review the course materials to ensure that I have sufficient information on the topics covered during the coursework. I will also take quizzes on the topic studied periodically to familiarize myself with the question format and structure, to ensure that I have the correct answer to the questions, and to boost my confidence for the subsequent certification exam (Yasova-Barbeau et al., 2019). Other than the course materials, I will also use other print or electronic data to conduct further research on a specific topic. This broadens the knowledge and gives a different perspective on the topic. For parts of the course that I do not understand fully, I will seek clarification from the tutor. I will also participate in study groups where we can practice teach-back strategies and share our challenges and solutions (Yasova-Barbeau et al., 2019)Preparation For Nursing Certification Exam Paper.
