Nurses play a crucial role in enhancing the health of patients, their families, and their communities. The most common services that patients receive in healthcare facilities involve treating diseases. Still, there is a need to ensure that disease prevention is essential in promoting patients’ overall health. Hence, the main factors essential in ensuring that nurses practice effective disease prevention include patient consultation, education, and a follow-up to ensure that the prevention plan works out perfectly. For this paper, I will present the overall health assessment of a young adult I encountered by incorporating Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns as outlined by Edelman et al. (2014)Nurse Role In The Application Of Health Promotion. The assessment reflects a focused review on stress’s impact on a young adult. Generally, the evaluation will help me understand how different stress levels can influence a young person. I will also integrate scholarly sources to help me understand how the client’s stress occurs and the most effective ways to prevent stress occurrence.

Safety Piece to Project
Nurses ensure that their patients correct their old habits by incorporating healthier choices and more beneficial habits. For example, Healthy People 2030 (2022) postulates that it is important for patients suffering from stress to engage in healthy eating and exercise to prevent stress and weight loss. Hence, through effective collaboration between a patient and nurse, it becomes easy for factors like care coordination and follow-up activities to eliminate the negative care outcomes that can harm a patient Nurse Role In The Application Of Health Promotion.
Health Promotion Goal
While assessing the patient, I realized that the main factors causing her stressful state include the new environment and its rules and regulations. Also, being an international student affected her since her family members were out of reach unless it was through cellphone communication. As Giddens (2020) accentuates, good health is more of a disease presence since most people live under threats of developing illnesses even when their health seems normal. Hence in identifying the level of stress portrayed by the client, she needed to assess her stress level using the Holmes and Rahe Stress Inventory (Veisani et al., 2021)Nurse Role In The Application Of Health Promotion.
Expected outcomes
The Holmes and Rahe Stress Inventory scale is more effective since when the client’s scores become high, the more the chances of her becoming ill, thus influencing also the chances of getting a normal healthy life. Hence, after conducting the test, the client’s rating was 100 (Part, 2022). On the other hand, when a score is below 150, an individual usually has lower rates of developing any illness. In such a case, it is essential to ensure that the client’s stressful instances reduce to prevent life-threatening illnesses or situations that may be associated with stress like depression. However, if the client’s stress score level is 150 and above, it would be necessary to ensure that proper management interventions are implemented to prevent adverse effects.
Interventions
Nurses are integral to health promotion since they find the most effective ways to reason with the patients. Various health promotion approaches for young adults support better health environments, influencing people’s perceptions and behaviors. According to Gidden (2020)Nurse Role In The Application Of Health Promotion, environments are essential since they influence how one makes healthy decisions. Hence, the client should not take long-distance learning as a negative factor but as a way to help her attain a high-standard lifestyle. Thus, the client will understand that she is in an international country to gain an education that will help her prosper in her future career as a registered nurse. Hence, she needs to adjust to the new environment and start making friends who can keep her company during her study time.
Project Summary
From the client’s assessment, different factors can lead to stress. Some of these factors can be ignored or seen as minor, but if they are not intervened, they may lead to adverse conditions like depression. Also, as a nurse student, stress factors may affect the client’s prospects in the nursing field, thus bringing along more health complications. Hence, it is always important to assess one’s health factors to promote health even when one does not have a visible health issue that needs admission. Another essential element learned concerns the need to encourage nurse students to prevent instances that can lead one to develop stress. Hence, nursing institutions should design effective ways to encourage these students, primarily through workshops Nurse Role In The Application Of Health Promotion.

This project is an individual project and is completely without help from fellow classmates. The project will be put through a plagiarism program before grading.
This project will touch on many aspects of the topics we have covered throughout the semester and bring it all together.
I want you to start by reading p. 132 – 152 in Health Promotion Throughout the Life Span. Pay attention to Table 6-1 – Aspects of a Nursing Assessment, Table 6-2 – Typology of 11 Functional Health Patterns and the Care Plan on p. 152 – Spiritual Distress: Cindy. It discusses the nursing process and how it relates to health promotion and includes Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns. Now, this is of an individual but you can choose from the following: prenatal, infant, toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent, young adult, middle age, or the older adult.
You can pick anyone to do this project on but I would suggest a non-family member because some sensitive issues might come up (but I will let you use your discretion). This project needs to be done in person. This project will need a signed consent from the interviewee, which you will find below. If the project is based on a minor, then you will need parental consent and the parent must be with the minor. Even if you do not interview the minor (say if an infant), then parental consent is still required. The signed consent needs to be scanned and uploaded with the project.
This can easily ‘get out of control’. Keep it concise and stick to a bulleted format, so this is not in a true APA format BUT a title page and reference page is required. I want you have a total of 3 references. Then I want you to pick one concept and two interrelated concept based on the process. Defend your selected concepts. Tips For Interview
1. Set up the meeting that is convenient to both of you.
2. Write up the interview questions before hand and rehearse them before you meet or talk to the interviewee.
3. Make sure you are early for your interview and if you don’t know where you are going, familiarize yourself to where you are going.
4. Introduce yourself, be courteous and enthusiastic and thank the person at the end of the interview.
Any questions, let me know. Consent and Example Below —

VOLUNTEER CONSENT FOR INTERVIEWING FOR EXPOSITORY PAPER
Student Name:______________________________________________________
An expository paper is any type of writing that is used to describe, explain, or convey information from writer to reader. The above student is required to complete a Health Profile Assessment on a client. The subject matter will vary according to assignment. If you agree to be interviewed, then your interview will be written into an expository paper and turned in to describe the topic matter discussed during your interview.
The student will need to represent in business casual professional attire. This interview may be conducted per phone. The questions for the interview will be designed to open conversation about a specific topic that was assigned ahead of time. The student will prepare this interview and document for in class use only. Confidentiality will be maintained. This assignment will be completed with only initials, or aliases if chosen, and submitted to the instructor.
A time commitment of 0.5 – 1 hour in 1 visit is typical of the volunteer for this project.
