Reflection Paper On DNP Strategies Discussion
Reflect on strategies you might use to ensure success in your program of study and for completion of your DNP degree requirements. For example, consider time management, organization, prioritization, and any other strategies that might be of considerable use in an academic or professional capacity
Post a brief description of at least one strategy you have used in the past (academically or professionally) that was advantageous in empowering you in terms of one or more of the following skill sets: planning, time management, studying, and effective technology use. Then identify a strategy that you have not yet tried and explain how this strategy may be beneficial, given your strengths and any potential areas of improvement. Be specific and provide examples Reflection Paper On DNP Strategies Discussion.

To effectively complete my program of study and also for the completion of a DNP degree there needs to be a feasible strategy. The DNP course has several requirements that need to be completed within a short duration with volumes of tasks to complete and materials to study. In addition, DNP research is a crucial requirement that takes a lot of time and which requires both time and planning. In this case, prioritization strategy is a critical way through which my program and the DNP degree requirements can be successfully completed.
Prioritization is a strategy that I have used in the past during my academic work and has worked. Prioritization is finding out what is important at a given time and which requires commitment in terms of deadlines achievement and projects completed (Murphy, 2022)Reflection Paper On DNP Strategies Discussion. The aspect of prioritization helps in stepwise improving the effectiveness and efficiency of completing one’s project. In the past, I was struggling with having my academic and professional tasks completed in time. Even with good timetables and frameworks still, there were issues in achieving the set objectives. However, through prioritization, I have been able to master the art of achieving the most within the set time frames. Through prioritization, I am able to know what commitments and needs should come first and which ones should wait. The method used in weighing these tasks is through figuring out situations such as deadlines, time of day, personal preferences, and the impact of a given task on my school achievement.
For example, in effective prioritization, there are important ways that I have used and which are effective for better planning and time management. One way I have used is the urgency vs. importance method by Steven Covey. This is where the weight of the activity to be performed and its urgency such as its due time are considered. According to Steven Covey’s principles, the urgency vs. importance method is divided into four quadrants including the first quadrat on important + urgent, the second quadrant on important + not-urgent, and the third quadrat on not important + urgent, and the fourth quadrat on not important + not urgent (Murphy, 2022). This was a useful tool in completing the many assignments, discussions, and also research papers during my studies and which will serve as an important approach to managing my time and planning during my DNP course.
Group work is a study strategy I have never used. I have always enjoyed studying alone and reading and making research projects all by myself. However, I believe that through the use of this strategy I can effectively improve my achievement. This is because having a discussion with peers and studying together helps in improving remembrance and even improves one’s ability on achieving the best (Chang, 2018)Reflection Paper On DNP Strategies Discussion. For example, some peers have the best knowledge of some topics and areas of study than others hence when we study together one gets to learn from the best. In addition, learning in groups seems to reduce boredom and fatigue that builds up when one is studying alone. Additionally, this strategy can be of great help to my academic studies because I possess the best time management practices, I am creative, and also good at problem-solving. Such strengths will help me cope with group challenges including lateness, and conflict resolutions, and also I will be supportive in adding more knowledge to members.
Using the prioritization strategy and also connecting with peers in group work will serve as a crucial way through which I will be able to complete my DNP course.
