Medical Practitioners Practical Education Programs Discussion

Summary of the findings

According to the findings presented by Boyle & Thompson (2020), participating in a training session is a good strategy for medical practitioners to improve their competences. To increase their understanding of clinically relevant practical matters, professionals can also enroll in affordable and practical education programs. This article, however, demonstrated that participation in the educational process did not lead to advancements in practice. This is due to the possibility that participants will not comprehend, remember, or implement the knowledge they learn from continuing learning programs. In addition to written tests, exhibits, verification of hours of practice in the specialization, and 360-degree evaluations, there are other ways to assess continuous proficiency certification (Boyle & Thompson, 2020)Medical Practitioners Practical Education Programs Discussion.

How author’s review of literature supported the research problem

The authors discussed how payment of examination costs, mention of participants in publications, the printing of credentials on name badges, and pay raises were among the factors that made it easier to get and keep certification (Boyle &Thompson, 2020)Medical Practitioners Practical Education Programs Discussion. The review of literature by the author has reinforced the research purpose of discovering the enablers to ongoing competence improvements.

In addition, the literarure reviewsed how the need for self-gratification and willingness to explore specialty education inspired the the ability  to pursue ongoing training. This information supports the purpose of establishing the value of continuous education. It was intresting to observe how the writers organized the elements of the literature review into respective sub-sections to facilitate concept absorption (Boyle & Thompson, 2020).

Strategy learned that would help create a strong literature reviw for evidence

I learned that critical analysis of articles is an important strategy for coming up with a good literature review for a study. Its also imperative to identify research materials that are in relation and of indepth to the research topic. Among the tasks that the authors have settled on are those that focus on barriers, values, and facilitators of both certification and competence in nursing education (Houser, 2018). Additionally, reviewing literature critcally makes it possible for a researcher to identify the trends of a certain topic, including clues on the existing gaps in a certain study area. A good literature review consists of different components that are vital, for example, the description of the article content while attempting to answer research questions (Houser, 2018)Medical Practitioners Practical Education Programs Discussion.

1. Locate the literature review section. Summarize using your own words from one of the study/literature findings. Be sure to identify which study you are summarizing.
2. Discuss how the author’s review of literature (studies) supported the research purpose/problem. Share something that was interesting to you as you read through the literature review section.
3. Describe one strategy that you learned that would help you create a strong literature review/search for evidence. Share your thoughts on the importance of a thorough review of the literature.
