INITIAL POST: Mission, Values and Personal Goals

My Nursing Goals and Walden University Vision and Mission

Over the last three years I have been blessed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the critical care setting in a rural community. Throughout my experiences in the critical care setting, I have came to realize that critical care is the specialty area I absolutely want to commit myself too as a Register Nurse by advancing my degree in nursing. I first began my adventure of furthering my education in critical care by first obtaining my Critical Care Register Nurse certification this last spring.

After I obtained my CCRN, I knew it was time to take the next step and achieve my biggest professional goal in nursing and that is to obtain my Nurse Practitioner in acute care.
I started researching multiple Acute Care Nurse Practitioner programs that different universities had to offer. After months of looking for the right program and university to accommodate my work schedule and personal life, I finally stumbled across Walden University. What intrigued me the most about Walden University is that I could obtain my Nurse Practitioner degree online, while still having the flexibility to work full time and still volunteer in the community. I did more research on Walden University website, and finally came across the Walden University School of Nursing mission and vision statements. NURS 6001N-47: Week 1 Discussion.
